92nd Street Y - Nesher Program for Children with Developmental Disabilities
This program is a part of the 92Y cultural and community center and is specifically geared towards children with developmental disabilities. Services include after school and Saturday respite programs with recreational activities and sports classes. An interview with the director is required to enter this program. Also has two camps designed for children with learning/developmental disabilities. Counselors have a background in special education. Camp Tova is designed for children, aged 6-13. Bari Tova provides 1:1 supervision for children, aged 5-13, with more severe developmental disabilities. All programs are free and funded by the New York State Office of Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities.
